On Saturday, July 25, at 6:30 p.m., Les Petits Chanteurs de Monaco (The Little Singers of the Principality of Monaco) will perform at Como Cathedral. Under the patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, this renowned boys’ choir was founded in 1974 by Rainier III and has since performed in concerts and on tours around the world, as well as providing music for the liturgies at Monaco Cathedral alongside the Cappella Musicale.
The concert program will range from Baroque music to Mendelssohn and 20th-century works by English composers, and will be conducted by Pierre Debat, choirmaster of the Cathedral and the Prince’s Palace, who will accompany the children on the piano. Marcello Formenti will be at the organ, performing pieces from the 20th-century English and French organ repertoire.
The event is part of the summer tour of the prestigious Monegasque children’s choir and is organized in collaboration with the Embassy of the Principality of Monaco in Italy.
The event is part of the “Duomo by Night” summer festival – admission is free.
